Have you been to ‘Gindabyne’? The Wildbrumby Schnapps Distillery in Jindabyne has introduced a rubus patch gin to their distillery range.
The gin is unique to the snowy mountains region. The delicate pink gin uses organic home-grown raspberries, giving the gin a faint pink hue; and drawing from their base in the Thredbo Valley, Alpine water is used in the distilling process.
we gladly accepted the job of taste testing the new rubs patch gin
As lovers of the Wildbrumby Schnapps range, we gladly accepted the job of taste testing their new gin.
A perfect afternoon drink, either poured straight over ice or as a mixed drink. Our first sampling was a Raspberry Mojito. Adding extra raspberries enhanced the colour – and who can refuse a very pink drink?
For our next round, we added a sprig of rosemary and chunks of ice, allowing the rosemary to infuse with the rubus patch gin. The subtle flavours blended well together – perfect with our cheese platter.
How to make a Raspberry Mojito:
Ingredients:
1 tsp of sugar
Small handful of fresh raspberries (crushed)
1 shot of Wildbrumby rubus patch gin
Splash of lime juice
Soda water
Combine sugar, raspberries and lime juice in a highball or tall glass, add 1 measure of rubus patch gin and then top with soda. Garnish with fresh mint
